When we empower carers, they are better able to provide empowering support to their loved ones with psychosocial disabilities. This is how we make recovery journeys meaningful and effective.

LEADS works with an aim to end the suffering of mentally ill people by using its CMH model.

Our work is based on the philosophy of building inclusive community where mentally ill men, women and children - through engaging in productive work - realize their own rights.

This initiative not only strengthens their financial independence but also boosts their confidence and contributes significantly to social empowerment."

"In Baudikali, LEADS Nepal has distributed seeds for seasonal vegetable farming. This initiative helps farmers cultivate crops according to the season and plays a key role in ensuring nutritious food for households. It also enhances the skills and agricultural knowledge of local farmers, contributing to long-term economic empowerment and community self-reliance. Additionally, the program builds farmers’ confidence while providing opportunities for sustainable production and greater participation in local markets."

In Baudikali, women who are part of an organized group have been supported through the distribution of goats as a means of income generation. This initiative not only provides them with a source of livelihood but also empowers them to contribute to their household economy. Goat farming is expected to create sustainable income opportunities, improve nutrition through livestock products, and strengthen women’s participation in local economic activities. By engaging women in such productive ventures, the program promotes both financial independence and community development.

In Dedhgaun, improved varieties of potato seeds have been introduced and distributed to group members as part of a trial initiative for income generation. The purpose of this distribution is to test the productivity and adaptability of these seeds in the local environment. Once the outcomes of this trial are evaluated, the successful results will serve as a foundation for expanding the program into full-scale commercial potato farming from the coming year. This initiative aims to encourage group members to participate actively in agribusiness, enhance their income opportunities, and ensure sustainable livelihood development through organized commercial agriculture.

Need for community organizations, Community Planning Process and networking training

On the first day, it's all about why community organizations are so important. They play a key role in solving local problems and improving people’s lives, especially in areas where government or private services don’t reach. These organizations support those in need, create opportunities for people to get involved, and help build stronger, more united communities.

We also looked at how they bring people together, build trust, and give a voice to those who are often overlooked. By using local knowledge and resources, community organizations can make real, lasting change. They’re a powerful force in creating communities that are more connected, resilient, and inclusive.

"A round of applause to everyone who completed the Business Skills Training program! By successfully finishing this training, you’ve not only gained practical business strategies and tools but also built a foundation for continuous growth. With the right mindset and skills in place, you’re ready to take on any challenge the business world throws your way. Your hard work has paid off—now it’s time to put your knowledge into action and achieve new heights!
